Description
The Designated Home State (DHS) license was created to provide residents of non-licensing states a means to designate a home state for the purposes of reciprocity and compliance. You should only obtain a DHS License if you reside in one of the following non-licensing states: Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington D. C., or Wisconsin.
A DHS license basically works just like having your home state license and is vital if you want to work any claims outside of your non-licensing state. While a host of different states offer a DHS license, the Florida 70-20 Nonresident DHS license is our top recommendation. It offers great reciprocity, you can take the exam online with us, and Florida has the quickest application turnaround time in the country.
Florida DHS adjuster candidates must take an approved pre-licensing course and pass an exam before applying for their license. Our Florida Certified Adjuster Pre-licensing Course satisfies both requirements. Once you complete the course and pass the included exam, you can apply for your 70-20 license. Our Florida Certified Adjuster Designation is the fastest and simplest way to get your Designated Home State License.
While obtaining your license is the most important step to becoming a claims adjuster, you shouldn’t stop there! Our Total Adjuster Package was developed to give new adjusters everything they need to get started, get hired, and get to work. Plus, you’ll save almost $250 off individual pricing when you bundle your Florida Pre-Licensing Course + Exam, Xactimate Training, Residential Construction Basics, Soft Skills: The Art of Insurance Adjusting, and our Adjuster Success Method.
Note: After purchase, all of these courses will be available in your personal online classroom. We highly recommend you take them in the order they are listed below. While our Xactimate course is approved for CE in certain states, you must hold a valid license before taking any course you intend to submit for continuing education credit.

Florida Certified Adjuster Pre-Licensing – Course Review
I recently completed the Florida Certified Adjuster Pre-Licensing Course through AdjusterPro, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with my experience. As someone completely new to the insurance industry, I was initially intimidated by the idea of diving into such a technical field. However, AdjusterPro made the learning process smooth and enjoyable.
The platform is incredibly user-friendly, making it easy to navigate through the lessons, quizzes, and study materials. The content is well-structured and highly educational, breaking down complex insurance concepts in a way that’s easy to understand. I particularly appreciated the mix of real-world examples, interactive learning tools, and practice exams, which helped reinforce my understanding of the material.
One of the standout aspects of this course was how engaging and well-paced it was. It never felt overwhelming, yet it provided all the essential knowledge needed to prepare for the licensing exam. The practice tests were especially useful in building my confidence before the final assessment.
Overall, I had a great time taking this course. It was informative, well-organized, and a fantastic introduction to the world of insurance adjusting. I highly recommend AdjusterPro to anyone looking for a comprehensive and beginner-friendly path to becoming a licensed adjuster in Florida!

It would be very helpful to have a booklet to review along with the recordings to eliminate the amount of handwriting required.

My learning style is better if I can read it all and not be forced to sit and listen to it and then wait until the time runs out to move on. I could have completed this much sooner and retained more if I had been able to read it in a textbook format.

The was a very hard course. I have my life & health insurance license and did not find that course as difficult as this one. Memorizing all the forms were a challenge but I’m so glad that I was able to study hard and pass the course.

Have quizzes that go back to earlier lessons. I think the quizzes should be 10-15 questions that will refresher earlier lessons so that that info can be remembered
