Description
The Designated Home State (DHS) license was created to provide residents of non-licensing states a means to designate a home state for the purposes of reciprocity and compliance. You should only obtain a DHS License if you reside in one of the following non-licensing states: Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington D. C., or Wisconsin.
A DHS license basically works just like having your home state license and is vital if you want to work any claims outside of your non-licensing state. While a host of different states offer a DHS license, the Florida 70-20 Nonresident DHS license is our top recommendation. It offers great reciprocity, you can take the exam online with us, and Florida has the quickest application turnaround time in the country.
Florida DHS adjuster candidates must take an approved pre-licensing course and pass an exam before applying for their license. Our Florida Certified Adjuster Pre-licensing Course satisfies both requirements. Once you complete the course and pass the included exam, you can apply for your 70-20 license. Our Florida Certified Adjuster Designation is the fastest and simplest way to get your Designated Home State License.
While obtaining your license is the most important step to becoming a claims adjuster, you shouldn’t stop there! Our Total Adjuster Package was developed to give new adjusters everything they need to get started, get hired, and get to work. Plus, you’ll save almost $250 off individual pricing when you bundle your Florida Pre-Licensing Course + Exam, Xactimate Training, Residential Construction Basics, Soft Skills: The Art of Insurance Adjusting, and our Adjuster Success Method.
Note: After purchase, all of these courses will be available in your personal online classroom. We highly recommend you take them in the order they are listed below. While our Xactimate course is approved for CE in certain states, you must hold a valid license before taking any course you intend to submit for continuing education credit.

I thought the course was very ridge and vigorous. I enjoyed the lay out an flow of the whole course. The practice exam questions were good but need a little more variety.

When re-affirming credentials throughout the course, the module would reset to the beginning resulting in a lot of wasted time.

All the tools to complete the end of course exam are available. Format is straightforward. Only thing I would change is being able to access course material prior to get to that section in the videos.

My test literally shut down and closed when I was on question 22 (or there abouts). I had to resign in and it freaked me out as I know how strict the rules are about anything strange happening in the middle of the test. I did not use ANY notes or ANY items to aid me in my test and I immediately resigned on and revalidated everything. This was awful and scary. PS – the classes are great – but you can barely hear the speaker no matter how much you turn the volume up.

This course has been beyond informative! I’m very happy with the layout, text-to-speech function and the consistent quiz benchmarks to reinforce my knowledge on topics discussed. The many concepts are broken down very simply, so the material remains comprehensible. I found myself thinking second nature on some of the later quizzes as the topics/concepts were discussed earlier in the course. This proved my understanding of the course content. My only suggestion would be to provide more detail in the many scenario-based questions used in quizzes/exams. Although most of the questions provided the key details needed to answer correctly, I found myself stuck on several questions due to a lack of background. This could easily be my own error as it is my first time learning the material; however, I suggest double checking those questions to provide better clarity. Thank you so much for providing me with the tools I’ll need moving forward in my claims career!!

The information in this course was great and easy to follow with the videos. The only complaint I have are the timed modules either being too long of timer for someone who can read at an average to above average pace. Also, the timers would reset occasionally along with at certain points being logged out and having to retake completed sections. All in all, great course.
