Description
The Designated Home State (DHS) license was created to provide residents of non-licensing states a means to designate a home state for the purposes of reciprocity and compliance. You should only obtain a DHS License if you reside in one of the following non-licensing states: Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington D. C., or Wisconsin.
A DHS license basically works just like having your home state license and is vital if you want to work any claims outside of your non-licensing state. While a host of different states offer a DHS license, the Florida 70-20 Nonresident DHS license is our top recommendation. It offers great reciprocity, you can take the exam online with us, and Florida has the quickest application turnaround time in the country.
Florida DHS adjuster candidates must take an approved pre-licensing course and pass an exam before applying for their license. Our Florida Certified Adjuster Pre-licensing Course satisfies both requirements. Once you complete the course and pass the included exam, you can apply for your 70-20 license. Our Florida Certified Adjuster Designation is the fastest and simplest way to get your Designated Home State License.
While obtaining your license is the most important step to becoming a claims adjuster, you shouldn’t stop there! Our Total Adjuster Package was developed to give new adjusters everything they need to get started, get hired, and get to work. Plus, you’ll save almost $250 off individual pricing when you bundle your Florida Pre-Licensing Course + Exam, Xactimate Training, Residential Construction Basics, Soft Skills: The Art of Insurance Adjusting, and our Adjuster Success Method.
Note: After purchase, all of these courses will be available in your personal online classroom. We highly recommend you take them in the order they are listed below. While our Xactimate course is approved for CE in certain states, you must hold a valid license before taking any course you intend to submit for continuing education credit.

was kind of struggling till I found someone on YouTube to explain how a lot of this works I guess id say that sometimes the course sound is almost to monotone or teaches in ways not meant to make you remember

Nadine was great. My head just feels like its exploding with information. 4 hour days is a lot to digest at once. It gave a good basis for further learning for sure.

The study bank was extremely useful. The transcript for the modules had multiple errors in it and should be reviewed for accuracy. Overall, course was informative and useful.

So I feel like it was a decent beginner class but not executed the best. A lot of people had issues or would interrupt a bunch because they didn’t understand something the instructor was going over. So I didn’t feel like i actually learned that much and having 30ish days to continue to practice with is not a lot of time to get comfortable with the software. Overall its not bad but maybe limit the amount of people per class or double check that people have a basic understanding of what’s going on so they don’t keep holding up the class and slowing the rest down. I would either want to take the class again or get an extension on the time we are allowed to practice with Xactimate to really get comfortable with it.

I feel as if there could have been a few videos in the lesson planning. Some people learn differently and hearing the content instead of just reading the content is more engaging to me. The content did however give some insight as to some things I need to learn more about as an adjuster. Overall, it was a good course!

I really enjoyed Nugget’s fun attitude and personality throughout the class. I think all the ideas of scoping, building codes, and q&a would be really beneficial. I have two notes – one would be that for the individual video pdf’s : I understand that a written noted pdf is helpful for some people but maybe a shortened, bullet point, takeaway type pdf would also be helpful. Second point is – for any BRAND new adjusters on the market, maybe a more in depth shortened course of how to get started? I know that was included in it’s own way – but it’s a daunting task to get started in this field, so just (as a brand new adjuster) how we could make a course for that particular person.
Thanks SO much!
